This photo was taken at the Wollongong Botanic Gardens at around midday.
The judge in the KSCC competition liked the receding repetition of the cactus stalks, the closest one showing the spiky detail and the furthest one showing the form of the plant. He also liked the colour and the harsh shadows, saying they added to the harsh look of the plants. It didn't get an award, though!
